Neopolitan

Who doesn’t like strawberry ice-cream? Why is it always the last to go from the tub??
Why three flavours? Apparently this was originally to represent the Italian flag..perhaps the chocolate was originally pistachio? Originating in Naples, Italy hence the name ‘Neopolitan’ – a native of Naples. The ‘spumoni’ was introduced to America by Italian immigrants in the late 1800’s, this was a block like dessert consisting of three layers of different flavoured ice creams. It is believed that the most popular flavours in America became the Neopolitan ice-cream tub as we know it today: Chocolate, strawberry & vanilla.
The blocky graphic pattern of this scarf is loosely based on the balance and blocks of flavours in the Neapolitan tub.
